What previous life events do you credit for piquing your interest in cycling and racing?
I have always loved riding my bike. It has always been a great way to clear my head. I had a bike in college and it took me everywhere.
How did you get into bike racing?
After having 2 kids I told my husband I wanted a bike so I bought a used road bike on Craigslist and started riding. He signed me up for Women on Wheels and I was addicted. I really don’t think my husband thought it would go this far, but he has been my biggest supporter to fuel my addiction of cycling. Also along the way I have met so many amazing women and men too that shared my sport. This is where I learned of all the events that sounded so intriguing. Everyone is so inspiring and motivating to make you want more how could you not love cycling and going faster.
What do you do by day?
VP/Designer for the for a store fixture company for over 26 years
What does an average training week look like?
I have been switching things around and have been doing weight training and some cardio before work at 5 am on weekdays and riding after work and on weekends. I have a new favorite program called Trainer Road that I use and follow after it gets dark in case I don’t get a ride during the light of day. I love seeing my FTP increase as my training continues.

What are your plans this year? My plans this year as every year is to work on concurring the hills. So far I am off to a good start. It was tough year in 2020 without having any races and something to work up to. I was all set for the Black fly this year and now I only have my sights set for Rooted Vermont because I do not see many in the books currently that work in with my schedule.
What 3 pro riders would you want to shred with and why?
I would love to ride with Kristen Armstrong. I was so impressed with her dedication and perseverance to show the media up after her injury. I also love Marrianna Vos she is a true inspiration and you know she truly loves the sport. One of my favorite documentaries is called Half the Road. It is eye opening to see all the issues females encounter in a male dominated sport. I feel this is changing and will continue to more and more as more females get out on the road and trails.
What are your favorite ways to fuel during a race or very long ride?
I have loved my salted watermelon cliff shots and packaged pickles, but on my current diet I may have to give up the shots and stick to just the pickles. I have been trying to not to fuel at all to see how my body will handle it and it has been going well so far. It will be interesting to see how I do on a race. I may change my tune on this.
What is your favorite way to recover after a ride?
My favorite way to recover is soaking in the hottub with my girls the night after the ride/race. I also enjoy the after race restaurant meetings with my teammates to talk about the race and all the things we encountered.
